Cobra bumper swap
1999-2002 Looking for a more aggressive look for your GT or V6 Mustang? Swap in a Cobra
front end! Its simple, follows the stock body lines very well, and you dont need any other body parts for it not to look out of place. Needed Parts
- Cobra bumper cover
- Cobra fog light bezels
- Cobra fog light
- Bumper supports
- Medallion assembly
Fasteners:
- 12 #8 x 5/8" self tapping (for bezel to bumper and fog light to bezel)
- 2 #10 x 3/4" self tapping (for medallion assembly)
- 6 3/16" diameter rivets (to insall bumper support to the bumper)
Needed Tools
Removal of the stock bumper
- Remove the plastic rivets on top of the grill and bumper.
- Unplug the foglights.
- Remove the screws under the radiator support.
- Remove the nuts inside the fender.
Assemble the Cobra bumper
- Screw the fog light to the bezel.
- Rivet the bumper supports to the Cobra bumper. (If you are reusing the supports from your
original bumper, use a drill to remove the old rivets.)
Installing the Cobra bumper
Installation of the Cobra bumper is just the reverse of the removal. The only difference is that you need to install the medallion assembly.
